Resources / Answers / Where EPR applies
What is the difference between EPR registration, representation and reporting?
Registration puts you on a country's producer register; representation is who answers for you there; reporting is the yearly declaration of what you placed on the market.

They are different duties, and each country has all of them.
- Registration — your entry in the national producer register, which gives the number marketplaces ask for (LUCID, IDU, ENV, CONAI number).
- Scheme membership — the organisation that collects and recycles packaging and charges fees by weight and material: a dual system in Germany, an eco-organisme in France, a SCRAP in Spain, CONAI in Italy. The register and the scheme are different bodies.
- Representation — for a producer not established in the country, a representative established there, appointed by written mandate, who carries out the obligations for you.
- Reporting — declarations of what you placed on the market, to the register and the scheme, on each country's calendar.
A marketplace collecting your number does none of these for you.
